Do I pay for parking?
If parking attendants are required, the cost will be charged to the school.

Is coach/bus parking available?
The main car park of the WA Athletics Stadium will be blocked off for school carnivals to allow bus drop off/pick up and turn around. Buses may park at McGillivray Oval or Matthews Netball Centre, as they do for swimming carnivals at Perth HPC. Any buses needing to park at Perth HPC will need to contact the Booking Officer for more information. Bus flow and parking maps are available from your Booking Officer.

Who can enter the track and field area?
Only athletes and officials have permitted access to the track and ground level facilities. Spectators and any others who are not athletes or officials are permitted only on the grandstand and may not access the track, infield or any ground floor facilities.

Can I book a training session?
The stadium is available for group training sessions. Training bookings do not guarantee exclusive use of the venue. If exclusive use is required a full or half day booking should be made. Walk-in training sessions are available for athletes accompanied by an accredited coach.

What is a half day / full day booking?
Please refer to the bookings pack, or discuss with your bookings officer.

Will I be charged for post event cleaning?
A post-event cleaning fee will be charged. To minimise this fee clients are encouraged to contain their spectators to the eastern (finish line) end of the grandstand and to ask spectators to place rubbish in the bins provided.

Can I use spikes on the track?
To maximise performance and prevent damage to the Mondo surface, athletes must not use sharp spikes that will penetrate the surface. The Mondo track is designed that when blunt spikes depress the surface the rebound effect will propel the athlete forward, maximising performance. The only spikes permitted for use on the track are of the Christmas Tree and Pyramid shape variety. The composition of the spike, i.e. ceramic or metal, is irrelevant and will not be monitored.
For all training and competition the spikes must conform to the below rules;
Track spikes must not exceed 7mm
Field spikes must not exceed 9mm except for javelin and high jump which must not exceed 12mm -
Do I need a coach?
Field athletes must be accompanied by a registered WAIS or Athletics West coach.

When can I book my training session?
Booked training sessions are available between 6.00am - 9.00pm from Monday to Sunday (excluding public holidays), provided the stadium is not booked exclusively for an event.
Please note: Training sessions may be cancelled to accommodate state, national or international events. Cancellations will be advised promptly. Booked and casual training sessions do not grant exclusive use of the venue facilities. Exclusive use must be booked, and fees and conditions apply.
