Iona Anderson
Sport: Swimming - 100m & 200m Backstroke

Achievements: Born in Scotland, Iona Anderson is one of Australian swimming's rising stars. Training at Perth HPC, she burst onto the international swimming stage in 2023, earning four medals at the World Junior Championships, including two golds.
Anderson carried her momentum into 2024, capturing a gold and two silver medals at the World Championships in Netanya. Her outstanding performances continued at the Paris Games, where she brought home a silver and a bronze medal.

Kane Perris
Sport: Track Cycling (Para-Tandem)

Achievements: Born with albinism and its associated vision loss, Perris began his track cycling career through a 2020 talent identification program run by WAIS. In 2021, he suffered a serious back injury that sidelined him for 10 months. Then, at the 2024 World Championships, a crash left him with broken ribs and a punctured lung.
Despite these setbacks, Perris worked tirelessly to rebuild his confidence alongside his pilot, Luke Zaccaria, in the lead-up to the Paralympics. Their determination paid off when the pair achieved an incredible fourth -place finish in Paris, breaking the Australian record in the process.

Jack Whiteside
Sport: Athletics - Decathalon

Achievements: Jack Whiteside has mastered ten disciplines, taking the scene by storm in 2022 when he won the Oceanic Decathlon Championships.
Making his first senior Australian team in 2024, Whiteside placed 9th in the decathlon at the Under 20's World Championships in Peru, in a personal best time and a state record. Whiteside has also spent an incredible amount of time giving back to athletics in WA and is well-loved figure in the community.

Isobel Dalton
Sport: Football/Soccer

Achievements: Dalton is the current captain of the Perth Glory women’s team.
After representing Australia eight times at U17 level, she began her professional career as part of the Bristol Academy (Bristol City). She also has stints playing for Napoli in the Serie A, Lewes FC in the second tier of English football and the Brisbane Roar. She joined the Glory in 2023 and was named co-captain in 2024.

Giorgia Patten
Sport: Rowing (Women’s Eight)

Achievements: Giorgia began rowing during high school and quickly rose through the ranks. At just 19, she made her senior international debut in 2018 in a coxless pair, where the duo secured sixth-place. Giorgia competed at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics as the youngest member of the women’s eight crew, finishing fifth.
Over the next four years, she solidified her place in the women’s eight, including making her senior World Rowing Championships debut. Selected for the 2024 Olympic team, Giorgia and her team made history by finishing fourth, achieving the best Olympic result ever for an Australian Women’s Eight.

"Racing at Champion Lakes Regatta Centre was an amazing opportunity to practice for the Henley Royal Regatta, but also an incredible experience to be back amongst the excitement of school girl rowing. Champion Lakes is a world class rowing course and I feel very lucky to have such an incredible facility to train and race on right here in Perth, helping prepare us to compete well on the world stage. It’s the course where my earliest rowing memories began in 2013 and it’s very special to come home to Perth and reminisce on my journey, whilst racing fast in great conditions and enjoying doing it."
Jackson Hamilton
Sport: Para-Athletics - F12 Javelin Throw

Achievements: Jackson Hamilton began Paralympic Javelin after his vision deteriorated during and he found a new love in athletics.
Breaking records in long jump, shot put, discus and javelin – Jackson made his Australian team debut in 2023. In 2024, Hamilton secured his place at the Paris Paralympics by throwing a huge 68.43m. At Paris, he finished 6th after a strong performance.

"Training at WAIS over the last 7 years has been a game-changer for the development of my Javelin career. The spacious gym uniquely contains a 100m athletics track, along with world class training equipment, which makes transitioning between strength work and technical throwing sessions seamless. The indoor throwing net is particularly valuable, as it means I can stay consistent with completing my throwing sessions even in bad weather during the winter. The recovery pools and athlete kitchen allow me to kickstart my recovery routine immediately post training and competition."
Josh Yong
Sport: Swimming - 100m & 200m Breaststroke

Achievements: Josh's career took off after moving to Perth to train under Mick Palfrey at the West Coast Swimming Club.
He first represented Australia at the 2019 World Junior Championships in breaststroke and medley relay events. At the Birmingham Commonwealth Games, he reached the finals in the 50m and 100m breaststroke. In 2022, he contributed to a world-record gold in the 4x100m medley relay at the Short Course World Championships. Domestically, he earned multiple medals at the Australian Championships. After qualifying for the 2024 Paris Olympics, he swam personal bests and secured bronze in the 4x100 Medley Relay – swimming the breaststroke leg.

"I am privileged to train and compete at Perth HPC in Mount Claremont. Having access to both indoor and outdoor pools allows for a variety of training stimulus to be used to help better my swimming. Being able to use the indoor pool in winter is also very convenient, and it is a very good competition venue for swim meets. WAIS being in close proximity to the centre also allows for efficient transitioning between pool and gym sessions, with well-equipped stretching areas, gym and recovery centre to maximise recovery between sessions."
Scarlet Jauncey
Sport: Netball

Achievements: Jauncey captained WA’s state U17 and U19 teams, and was selected in national squads at U17, U19 and U21 level. She was recently part of the Australian U21 squad for the Rising Stars Tour, competing against New Zealand, Singapore and Fiji.
A proud Yawuru woman, Jauncey also represented the ‘Black Swans’ at the Australia Pacific Series, alongside her sister Jamacia, in a team featuring Australia’s 12 best Indigenous and Torres Strait netballers. She played for the West Coast Fever reserves in 2024.
