HBF Stadium April Shutdown
Reading time: 5 minutes
Update Monday 29 April:
The electrical works were a success and the venue will open as planned on Tuesday 30 April at 5.30am, however the water temperature in the Outdoor 10 Lane Pool will be cooler than normal as it takes some time to come back up to temperature. The pool will remain open for use, however we will also aim to offer alternative indoor space where possible throughout the day.
.....
In November 2023,
the main switchboard at HBF Stadium critically malfunctioned. A detailed
investigation by our electrical contractors determined that a bespoke rebuild
of the switchboard would be required, resulting in the venue running on a
temporary power supply since.
The switchboard
build is now complete and will require a five day venue shutdown to install. We
have chosen dates to minimise the impact on our valued customers and tenants.
Thursday 25 April to Monday 29 April inclusive. The
venue will reopen Tuesday 30 April, 5:30am.
During the dates
detailed above, HBF Stadium will be shut and existing programs and services
that usually run on those days will not be available. If you have a child
enrolled in Swim School you will not have that lesson debited from
your account. Kids Gym participants have not been charged for classes occurring on these dates. All upfront memberships will be extended by one week and direct
debits will be paused for one week to account for the inconvenience.
HBF Stadium and
VenuesWest would like to take this opportunity to thank our loyal customers and
stakeholders for cooperating with us over the past five months while our team
worked through the power issues.
We look forward to
welcoming patrons and staff back to the venue on April 30.
